About Dr. Newman
PhD, LMFT, LADAC
I have found in my practice that all if not most of my clients are on a Quest for Wholeness, to heal the unresolved emotional wounds that have been interfering with their personal growth all of their life. My PhD program focused on Depth Psychology and Object Relations Therapy with an emphasis on healing these emotional wounds from within. I incorporate cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, internal family systems to support this process. The title of my dissertation, Healing the Feminine, focused on womens’ struggle in recovery to connect with with their feminine power, to develop the confidence to feel comfortable in their own skin. While my initial focus had been women in recovery, this process pertains to all women who struggle on this emotional journey. It means freeing themselves of shame, guilt, low self esteem and lack of self worth, just to name a few ,that have been roadblocks to developing a positive self image. I am now working with men to address their issues and heal from within as well.
